Together with her husband Nelson Mandela, she became the face of the black people’s resistance to apartheid. Despite many imprisonments, she never gave up her fight for the rights of black South Africans. Therefore, she is still admired by her fans who call her “Mother of Nation” and even wrote songs and operas about her. But Winnie also has a dark side: she is said to be a very violent person and she is responsible for some crimes such as the death of a 14-year-old boy.
